Wild Rice with Shiitakes & Toasted Almonds

Toasted almonds enhance the nutty flavor of wild rice in this simple yet luxurious side dish. You could give it an Asian twist by substituting sesame oil for the butter and adding a drizzle of soy sauce.



Sausage and Broccoli Rabe

imageI saw Mario Batali make this on the Chew and I’ve made it a few times. It is amazing and pretty easy to make. There are 3 options to the recipe – simple, special or spectacular, with each one having more ingredients and adding a bit more flavor and complexity. I’ve substituted Swiss chard for the broccoli rabe and Parmesan for the¬†caciocavaolla. I’ve also used a dark chocolate balsamic vinegar which tastes amazing.
